ANNOUNCEMENT OF OPPORTUNITY FOR 5,631 YOUTH TO JOIN SHORT-TERM VOCATIONAL TRAINING COURSES AT VETA COLLEGES THROUGH THE YEFFA PROJECT

INTRODUCTION

The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) has entered into a cooperation agreement with ANSHA, RUATI, TAMA, and MBOS institutions through the Youth Entrepreneurship for the Future of Food and Agriculture (YEFFA) Project. This project is funded by AGRA Tanzania and will be implemented through VETA colleges in Kihonda, Manyara, Npanda, and Arusha (Oljoro). This training will be conducted in four phases, with the first phase starting on January 19, 2026.

The project will support a total of 5,631 Tanzanian youth from the regions of Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Tanga, Lindi, Mtwara, Pwani, Ruvuma, Njombe, Iringa, Manyara, Singida, Dodoma, Tabora, Katavi, Kigoma, Rukwa, Mbeya, Songwe, and Kagera.

VETA welcomes applications to join vocational training through the YEFFA project. This training will be for daytime study (Day Programme) only.

FIELDS TO BE OFFERED

i) Agro-Mechanics (Agricultural Tools Mechanics) – Training duration: four weeks
ii) Irrigation Technology – Training duration: two weeks
iii) Post-Harvest Technology – Training duration: two weeks.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Applicants must have the following qualifications:
i. A Tanzanian youth aged between 15 and 35 years.
ii. Must know how to read and write, with primary education and above.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE

i. Applications will be made online via the system available on the VETA website or hardcopy forms available at VETA colleges in Kihonda, Manyara, Npanda, Moshi, Tanga, Lindi, Pwani, Songea, Iringa, Ludewa, Singida, Dodoma, Tabora, Kigoma, Rukwa, Mbeya, Kagera, and Arusha (Oljoro).
ii. The applicant must return the form, attaching a birth certificate or letter from the Street Government Chairman and academic certificates they possess.
iii. Forms will be submitted to the relevant college or online via the application system.
iv. Forms will be provided free of charge.

APPLICATION PERIOD

Forms will be available from December 19, 2025, and the deadline for collecting and returning forms is January 2, 2026.

TRAINING FEES AND COSTS

Only tuition fees will be covered by the Project. Other costs such as transport, food, and accommodation for students studying far from the colleges offering the training will be paid by the parent/guardian/student concerned.

Women and people with special needs will be given priority.
