ECZ Releases 2025 Grade 7 and Grade 9 Examination Results

Minister of Education Douglas Syakalima announcing the 2025 Grade 7 and Grade 9 examination results in Zambia

The Examinations Council of Zambia has released the Grade 7 and Grade 9 examination results for 2025. This announcement marks an important moment for pupils, parents, and schools across the country. The results cover the Primary School Leaving Examination at Grade 7 and the Junior Secondary School Leaving Examination at Grade 9.

The Minister of Education, Hon. Douglas Syakalima, officially announced the release of the results. He highlighted the importance of timely access to examination outcomes for effective planning and smooth transition to the next level of education. The release allows learners to confirm performance and prepare for placement into secondary or senior secondary schools.

Candidates and guardians can access the results through a simple SMS service. To check results, type the examination number, followed by a space, the year, another space, and the grade. For example, a Grade 9 candidate writes 1234567890 2025 G9 and sends the message to 8383. The cost per message is K4.18. This service works on the MTN network, ensuring wide access across Zambia.

The SMS-based results system offers a quick and direct option for families, especially in areas with limited internet access. By using basic mobile phones, candidates receive results within seconds. This approach reduces congestion at schools and examination offices, while supporting privacy and convenience for learners.

The Examinations Council of Zambia continues to rely on digital solutions to improve service delivery. Over the years, mobile access to results has helped shorten waiting times and eased pressure on school administrators. The council also encourages candidates to verify details carefully when sending the SMS to avoid delays or incorrect responses.

For Grade 7 learners, the results determine placement into junior secondary schools. For Grade 9 learners, the outcomes guide selection into senior secondary schools, technical institutions, or other approved education pathways. School authorities use the released results to support placement decisions and provide guidance to learners and parents.

The Ministry of Education urged candidates and guardians to rely on official channels when checking results. Schools remain available to support learners who need clarification on grades or next steps. The ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to fair assessment practices and continuous improvement of the examination process.

The release of the 2025 Grade 7 and Grade 9 results represents another step in strengthening Zambia’s education system. With simple access through mobile phones, learners and families receive timely information to support informed education choices.
