The Environmental Investment Fund of Namibia (EIF) has announced the 2026 bursary call for Namibian youth aged 18–35. This initiative supports socio-economic development by enabling access to higher education in key fields related to environmental sustainability, renewable energy, agriculture, and climate financing. Both undergraduate and postgraduate bursaries are available for studies in Namibia, the SADC region, and beyond.
Undergraduate Bursary Opportunities
Applicants can pursue undergraduate degrees in areas critical to environmental and sustainable development. Eligible fields include Renewable Energy, Agriculture, Ecology and Biodiversity Conservation, Environmental Management, Sustainable Development, Climate Financing, and Law. Only degrees directly related or strongly aligned with these areas will be considered.
Postgraduate Bursary Opportunities
Postgraduate applicants can apply for master’s programs in Agricultural Engineering, Renewable Energy, Sustainable Energy Systems, Green Climate Financing, Natural Science Management, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and Master of Science in Agriculture. EIF emphasizes that only applicants pursuing studies clearly related to these areas will qualify for bursary consideration.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be Namibian citizens. Academic requirements include:
Grade 11 Certificate
Grade 12 first and second term results or Grade 12 Certificate
Academic progress report for current university or higher education students
Provisional acceptance from a recognized institution registered with the Namibia Qualifications Authority
Preference will be given to applicants from marginalized communities. Applicants with disabilities should specify the nature of their disability on the application form. Applications for fields outside those listed will not be considered.
