Hungarian Government Scholarship 2026-2027 for Liberians (Fully Funded)


The Government of Liberia, in collaboration with the Government of Hungary, invites eligible Liberians to apply for the 2026-2027 Hungarian Government Scholarship (Stipendium Hungaricum) for undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate (BSc, MSc, and Ph.D.) studies. This fully funded scholarship provides Liberians the opportunity to pursue higher education in Hungary, strengthening human capital, advancing national development, and deepening global partnerships.

(Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for interview and written exam.)

1. Curriculum VitaeInclude valid email address and phone contact.
2. Proof of CitizenshipPassport and Birth Certificate required.
3. Degree, Diploma, and TranscriptApplicants must validate their credentials as follows:
 Bachelor’s Applicants: Validate Diploma, Transcript, Recommendation Letter, and WASSCE/WAEC Certificate at MoE, then obtain Apostille from Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA)
 Master’s Applicants: Validate Bachelor’s Degree & Transcript at Commission on Higher Education (CHE), then obtain Apostille from MFA.
 Ph.D. Applicants: Validate Master’s Degree & Transcript at CHE, then obtain Apostille from MFA.
4. Passport PhotosSix (6) recent passport-size photos with white background.
5. Recommendation LettersTwo letters: one professional and one academic.
6. Police ClearanceMust be recent and valid.
7. Medical CertificateRequired only after nomination (covering communicable diseases).
8. Study Plan / Research ProposalMandatory for Master’s & Ph.D. applicants (minimum 800 words).
9. Statement of IntentFor Bachelor’s applicants, outlining academic goals and contribution to Liberia’s development.

Academic thresholds:

  • Bachelor’s: minimum B average (80% or above)

  • Master’s/Ph.D.: GPA 3.00+
