The Ministry of Labour and Social Security announces that scholarship applications are now open for students who wish to pursue tertiary education in South Africa and Namibia, as well as for students who have been admitted to the University of Eswatini (UNESWA) Mbabane Campus.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include students who have received final offer acceptance letters from universities or institutions sponsored by the Government of Eswatini under the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. The Ministry encourages all applicants to familiarize themselves with the Government’s Priority List of Programs of Study, which is available on the Ministry’s Facebook page, official website, and at the Scholarship Office.

Applicants should take note of the cut-off points for study outside the country, which is 33 points, computed from the best five passed subjects. The grading system is as follows:
- A* = 8 points
- A = 7 points
- B = 6 points
- C = 5 points
- D = 4 points
- E = 3 points
Students are advised to read all instructions carefully and follow the online application process step-by-step before submitting their applications. Incomplete or incorrectly filled forms may delay processing or lead to disqualification.
The closing date for applications is 5 December 2025. Late applications will not be considered under any circumstances.

Students who require assistance with the online process are encouraged to contact the Ministry at 2404 2515 or visit the Scholarship Office Reception located at the Old Income Tax Building (Etolishini), Ground Floor. The Ministry has emphasized that no application or assistance fees will be charged, ensuring equal access for all eligible students.
Principal Secretary S. M. Mndawe reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to providing financial support to deserving Eswatini students pursuing higher education. He stated that the scholarship program remains a key component of the government’s strategy to build a skilled and competitive workforce that supports national development.

The Ministry also reminded applicants that scholarships are awarded based on merit, adherence to the government’s priority fields of study, and available funding. Students are urged to apply early and ensure that their supporting documents are accurate and up to date.
Applications officially open on 12 November 2025, and all interested students are required to apply online through the Scholarship Application System
