Malawi Ministry of Education Releases IPTE 20 Selection List for 2025 Intake

The Malawi Ministry of Education is pleased to release names of the 20th cohort of the Initial Teacher Primary Education (IPTE) Programme who have been selected to undergo a two-year training course offered in the ten (10) Public Teacher Training Colleges in Malawi.

All selected candidates are going to be boarders. The names of the selected candidates have been sent to all District Education Offices and all Principals of Public Teacher Training Colleges in Malawi.

The Ministry is informing all the selected candidates to report to their respective colleges on Sunday, 2nd November, 2025 in readiness for classes that will commence on Monday, 3rd November, 2025. The selected candidates are further informed that their places will be declared vacant if they do not report to their respective colleges by Monday, 17th November, 2025.

Furthermore, the Ministry is informing the selected candidates and the general public that completion of the two-year IPTE training programme does not mean automatic recruitment by Government.

The selected candidates should bring the following items when reporting for the training:

1.National Identity Card

2. An original copy of Malawi School Certificate of Education.

3. Beddings, bathing towels, soap, water buckets, plates,Cups, spoons and forks.

4. Sports attire

5. Writing materials.

6. MK75, 000.00 as colleges fees which include tuition fees (MK5,000.00) and boarding fees (MK70, 000.00)
