Youngstars Foundation via the Bayelsa State VoteNotFight Campaign Team is seeking for interested youths, CSOs, FBOs, to conduct VoteNotFight National Day of Action with 2Baba Idibia. The VoteNotFight National Day of Action is designed to convey Nigerian youths’ resolve to shun electoral violence and to also pressure the political class and all stakeholders to ensure a peaceful 2019 general elections.
Youngstars Development Initiative (YDI) has been implementing the Vote Not Fight: 'Election No Be War' campaign with 2Baba Foundation since 2014 with support from the National Democratic Institute (NDI). The Nigerian music icon, Innocent Ujah Idibia also known as 2FaceIdibia, has remained the Ambassador for *VoteNotFight campaign* since it was first deployed during Nigeria’s 2015 general elections.
About the VoteNotFight National Day of Action:
Simultaneous citizen’s actions across different cities and locations coordinated to promote a particular cause have proven to always contribute significant visibility for causes. It is in view of this that a "Vote Not Fight National Day of Action" is being proposed for February 5th 2019. On this dedicated day, Vote Not Fight state partners across the 36 States including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja would conduct a peaceful rally from an agreed location to another in their respective state capital. A Vote Not Fight Letter for peaceful elections will be presented where the walk is concluded. Youngstars Development Initiative (YDI) will liaise with all local organizers to follow a code of conduct and planning that ensures the walks are hitch-free and branded t-shirts shall be provided for the states implementing the walks.
The National Day of Action would strengthen and communicate Nigeria youths consensus against hate speech, electoral violence and vote buying and also pressure the political class to play by the rules.
Eligibility/Requirement:
1. All Youth-focus groups (CSOs, CBOs, and FBOs etc) in Bayelsa State
2. Individuals, young women, organizations and persons with disability are also encouraged to apply.
