MoBSE Teacher Recruitment 2026 Advertisement


The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education Gambia hereby invites applications from Qualified Teachers and Graduate Teachers to fill teaching positions across all regions.

This recruitment exercise forms part of the Ministry’s ongoing commitment to strengthen the education workforce and ensure equitable deployment of qualified teachers across all regions.

This year’s graduate recruitment targets in-service Qualified Teachers (QTs) currently completing their studies at The University and expected to graduate in 2026. These individuals have been fully catered for in the Ministry’s budget, and upon graduation, their status will be regularised as Graduate Teachers.

 

SECTION A: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Before purchasing a token, please ensure you meet the following requirements:

Pre-Service Applicants Only

  • This recruitment is strictly for new applicants.

  • It does not apply to re-instatement or re-appointment cases.

  • You must never have been previously appointed as a government civil servant teacher.

Academic Requirements

  • WASSCE Holders or equivalent (Arabic and French): Minimum of 3 credits, including English Language.

  • Diploma Holders: You must have sat for and passed the compulsory competency examination. Only those certified are eligible to apply.

 

SECTION B: Required Documents

Applicants must have the following documents scanned and ready for upload:

  • Birth Certificate

  • TIN Certificate

  • WASSCE Results or equivalent

  • Qualified Teachers: College Attestation & Transcripts

  • Graduate Teachers: Statement of Award & Transcripts

The Total Recruitment Ceiling indicates the number of additional fresh graduate teachers to be recruited per region.

QT Positions (PTC/Diploma Holders) – Salary Grade 6

  • Region One – 73 Positions

  • Region Three – 60 Positions

  • Region Four – 47 Positions

  • Region Six – 90 Positions

  • Region Five (North) – 50 Positions

  • Region Five (South) – 50 Positions

  • Region Two (East) – 45 Positions

  • Region Two (West) – 71 Positions
