King Cetshwayo District Municipality 2026 University and TVET Registration Grants


The King Cetshwayo District Municipality is inviting eligible residents to apply for the 2026 University and TVET Registration Grants. This support programme aims to assist local students who plan to pursue full time studies in 2026. The grant provides financial relief for registration fees and encourages access to higher education across the district.

Introduction

The Municipality, under the leadership of His Worship the Mayor Cllr S. Z. Dlamini, is offering registration grants to students who plan to study at public universities or TVET colleges. The grant will help first year students begin their studies with reduced financial pressure. Each successful applicant receives a once off payment of R6 000 to support registration costs. The Municipality encourages all eligible residents to apply during the official application window.

Eligibility

To qualify, you must meet the following conditions:

  • You must be a South African citizen.
  • You must permanently reside in the King Cetshwayo District.
  • You must plan to pursue full time studies at a recognised university or TVET college in 2026.
  • You must apply within the official dates. Late applications are not accepted.

The programme welcomes applicants from all study fields. Selection aims to support committed students who require financial support during the registration period.

Requirements

Prepare the following documents before submitting your application:

  • Certified copy of your South African ID.
  • Proof of residence within King Cetshwayo District.
  • Matric results or latest academic record.

Application Dates

Applications open on 10 December 2025 and close on 15 January 2026. You are encouraged to apply early to avoid delays. Applications submitted after 15 January 2026 will not be considered.
