The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB) has officially opened registration for candidates participating in the 2026 national examinations. This registration period runs from 10th November to 15th December 2025 across all approved examination centres. The exercise covers the Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE), Junior Certificate of Education (JCE), and Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) examinations.
Following the government’s implementation of free primary and secondary education, all candidates attending public schools are exempt from paying examination and identity card fees. However, candidates outside public schools, including external candidates, are required to pay examination fees according to MANEB’s 2026 fee schedule. Payment is to be completed between 10th November and 31st December 2025 using approved platforms such as Airtel Money, TNM Mpamba, FDH 525 Mobile Wallet, FDH Wallet, FDH Banki Pakhomo, NBS Eazy Mobile, National Bank Mo626, Standard Bank Unayo, and First Capital Bank.
The 2026 examination fees are structured to accommodate different candidate categories. For PSLCE external candidates, the fees include MK 200 per subject, MK 1,000 entry fee, MK 1,000 form fee, MK 1,000 administration fee, and MK 1,000 centre fee. JCE internal candidates will pay MK 1,000 per subject, MK 1,630 entry fee, MK 1,750 administration fee, and MK 1,750 centre fee, with similar fees applying to external candidates, plus a form fee of MK 1,750. MSCE candidates, both internal and external, will pay MK 2,000 per subject, MK 3,250 entry fee, MK 1,750 administration fee, and MK 1,750 centre fee, with external candidates also required to pay MK 1,750 form fee.
Identity card fees are set at MK 3,500 for PSLCE candidates and MK 4,000 for both JCE and MSCE candidates. These fees ensure proper identification and verification of candidates during the examination process.
MANEB urges school authorities, parents, guardians, and candidates to adhere strictly to the registration and fee payment deadlines, as no extensions will be granted after closure. Timely compliance guarantees smooth processing and participation in the 2026 examinations.
Professor Dorothy Nampota, Executive Director of MANEB, emphasized the importance of completing registration and payments promptly to avoid disruptions. She also highlighted that adherence to the fee structures ensures the operational efficiency of examination centres and supports fair access for all candidates.
For inquiries or further details, candidates and school officials can contact MANEB through their offices or the provided payment platforms to confirm registration and payment processes.
