Malawi Local Government Service Commission Releases Health Sector Interview Results – Full List

The Local Government Service Commission (LGSC) Malawi , in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and with support from the Global Fund, has officially released the results of the recent written interviews for critical health sector positions. The interviews, conducted from 31st May to 1st June 2025, covered the posts of Disease Control Surveillance Assistant (Grade M), Statistical Clerk (Grade M), and Hospital Attendant (Grade P).

The announcement follows communication from the Ministry of Health confirming that the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) had approved the release of the interview outcomes. The LGSC urges the public to take note of the results, which are organized by District Council, and to ensure that all successful candidates comply with the reporting requirements.

Successful applicants are required to report for duties at their assigned District Council immediately. To complete the onboarding process, candidates must present two copies of each of their certificates, two copies of their National ID, and the original documents for verification. The strict adherence to these requirements ensures proper documentation and smooth integration of new staff into the local government health workforce.

The Disease Control Surveillance Assistant role (Grade M) plays a pivotal role in monitoring, preventing, and controlling disease outbreaks within local communities. These professionals are essential for implementing public health policies, collecting field data, and assisting in the timely reporting of health threats to higher authorities.

The Statistical Clerk position (Grade M) supports local health administration by maintaining accurate records, processing data, and assisting in the preparation of reports crucial for health planning and decision-making. The post is particularly important for ensuring that health data is correctly captured and analyzed, which directly impacts policy implementation and resource allocation.

Hospital Attendants (Grade P) provide essential support to health facilities, ensuring that hospitals and clinics function efficiently. Their responsibilities include patient care, maintaining hygiene standards, and supporting medical staff in daily operations. By strengthening the support system in health institutions, these attendants contribute to the overall quality of healthcare delivery.

The LGSC emphasizes that all candidates should report promptly and comply with the specified documentation requirements to facilitate immediate deployment. Timely reporting is crucial for maintaining the efficiency of health services across all District Councils and ensuring that local communities receive the necessary support.

The Commission, alongside the Ministry of Health and the Global Fund, continues to work towards building a robust health workforce capable of addressing public health needs efficiently. The release of these results marks an important step in strengthening local health systems and providing communities with skilled and dedicated personnel.
