The National Registration Bureau (NRB) is planning to register all children below 16 years and issue each one of them with a birth certificate in a National Birth Registration Campaign (NBRC). The registration of these children will take place in government primary schools and selected teachers in the schools will be engaged as registration officers.
The exercise is planned to be done in 25 districts across the country involving 483 Education Zones, 5,357 Government Primary Schools and 9,918 Primary Teachers. The implementation of the exercise will be in a phased approach with each phase taking two weeks. The number of schools and number of teachers in each phase is provided in the accompanying documents. The list of schools and number of teachers required per school will be provided in excel soft copy.
The NRB is therefore requesting your Ministry to facilitate identification of the teachers using the attached selection criterion. Please note that Headteachers will be Centre Supervisors and Primary Education Advisors (PEAs) will be Zonal Supervisors in the exercise. Therefore, you are requested to provide their details together with the details of the identified teachers. To ensure uniformity in getting the details, a Standard Template has been provided.
It will be appreciated if the Director of Education, Youths and Sports for each district in Phase 1 submit the consolidated list of the identified teachers, headteachers and PEAs to NRB in Excel Soft Copy by Friday, 7th November, 2025.
