Applications are now open for Youth Civic Engagement Program 2018.
Leadtots is seeking young people who are passionate about developing themselves and contributing to the Inclusive society in North-East Nigeria to apply for her “Nothing About Us, Without Us” Youth Civic Engagement Program 2018 with support of National Endowment for Democracy, USA.
This is an opportunity for youth and women in Tertiary Institutions, Youth/Women – focused Organizations who seek to build their Leadership and peace building capacities; strengthen their networks for an increased youth participation in governance through advocacies, media activities, voter education, civic engagement and get to have their voices heard in the promotion and implementation of youth and women development program. You might be the best candidate for this program.

1. Deepen your understanding of Youth participation in Governance
2. Enable you build peace building abilities and help you participate in reducing political Violence and Communal Conflict.
3. Increase Innovative and Effective Student Leadership in High Institutions
4. Enhance Inclusive governance for women and young people by creating equal opportunities and participation for all categories of citizenry.
5. Promote youth voices on political matters which will result in young people becoming active in elected offices, cabinet positions and improved engagement in governance issues that affects the country.
Program Logistics:
This program involves participating in Leadership and Civic Engagement trainings; development of youth strategic engagement documents and highly organized advocacies.
Registration is free. Trainings are free. Participants will be provided with accommodation, feeding and training materials including T-shirts. Advocacies and media engagement logistics will also be catered for by Leadtots Development Initiative. However, Participants are expected to make only once transport support for their travel to training location at Yankari Games Reserve, Bauchi.
Eligibility:
This opportunity is for young women and youth between the age of 17 – 35years residing in the North-East Nigeria. While Passion is a major criteria for selection, higher priority will be given to participants who are Student Leaders in Tertiary Institutions, Youth or women affiliated with an Organization in the region. PLWDs and Youth in Journalism will also be given special priority in selection.
