What is YouWiN! Connect?
YouWiN! Connect is a multimedia enterprise education initiative of the Federal Ministry of Finance (FMF) which aims to support young entrepreneurs as they PLAN, START and GROW their businesses. YouWiN! Connect seeks to promote entrepreneurship as a viable career option for young Nigerians which in turn will create jobs and wealth.
What are the Objectives of YouWiN! Connect?
The overall aim of the program is to promote entrepreneurship as a viable career option for young Nigerians through three components of the programme, namely:
YouWiN! Connect Enterprise Education - (Print, Social Media, TV & Radio)
YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building - (Online Training & Sector Specific In-Class Training)
YouWiN! Connect Series Fund.
What is the YouWiN! Connect Enterprise Education?
The Enterprise Education is a weekly print/online publication, television and radio broadcast series that aims to achieve the following;
Build entrepreneurial capacity through exposure to relevant SME development materials and tools such as technical, legal and financial skills in business management.
Inspire budding entrepreneurs by sharing real-life experiences from business owners and professionals.
Disseminate relevant entrepreneurship education content to foster enterprise amongst the Nigerian youth.
Use of Social Media to engage and network with Nigerian youth entrepreneurs
Who can apply for YouWiN! Connect Enterprise Education?
No application is required. It is open to the general public and is accessible in print and electronic media.
What is YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building?
This is an online/in-class extension of the YouWiN! Connect Enterprise Education and targeted at young entrepreneurs. It aims to build entrepreneurial capacity (online and in-class training) through exposure to relevant SME development materials and tools such as technical, legal and financial skills in business management.
Who can apply for YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building?
Nigerian Citizen.
Aged between 18 - 40 years.
Post secondary school qualification (includes university, polytechnics, diplomas, NCE etc) .
Proposed and/or existing Business must be located in Nigeria.
Business must not entail production or distribution of weapons, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, gambling or any activities in contradiction of the Nigerian constitution.
Potential / existing entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas or plans for expansion respectively.
Proposed Business must be in one of the programme target sectors.

How do I apply for the YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building?
Visit the website http://apply.youwinconnect.org.ng for details and eligibility criteria. Once you register, a system generated acknowledgement email and passcode is sent to your email inbox. The passcode is required to login to the application platform.
What types of business can apply for YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building?
The programme is open to all new and existing businesses in the programmes targeted sectors.
Must my business be registered with CAC before I can apply for YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building?
No, however you’re advised to register your business so you can access other components of the program.
My business is a partnership, how many applications can I submit for YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building?
You can only submit one application for the business.
Can I change my business idea if I have already submitted an application for YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building?
You can save changes to your application before submission. But once you have submitted you can no longer make changes.
Is there a limit to how many business ideas I can submit for YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building?
Yes, one application per individual. Duplicate applications will lead to disqualification.
Is there an application fee for the YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building?
There is no fee. You are advised not to pay any application fee to anyone. YouWiN! Connect is free.
I do not live in Nigeria, can I participate in the YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building?
Yes you can participate in the online training. But to access other components of the programme, your business must be domiciled in Nigeria.
How do I know if I am selected for YouWiN! Connect Capacity Building?
You will be communicated through email and text message. However if you have any enquiries about the status of your application, you can send emails admin@youwinconnect.org.ng Also visit the website regularly for more info.
What is the YouWiN! Connect Series Fund?
This is an annual venture capital fund set up by the Federal Ministry of Finance which will offer equity investment to start-ups and early stage SMEs through qualified fund managers under a co-investment model.
Who can apply for the YouWiN! Connect Series Fund?
It is open to all Nigerian Youth Entrepreneurs and there are no age restrictions.

Enterprise Education

Series Fund

What is the YouWiN! Connect Series Fund?
This is an annual venture capital fund set up by the Federal Ministry of Finance which will offer equity investment to start-ups and early stage SMEs through qualified fund managers under a co-investment model. 

Who can apply for the YouWiN! Connect Series Fund?
It is open to all Nigerian Youth Entrepreneurs and there are no age restrictions

I do not live in Nigeria, can I participate in the YouWiN! Connect Series Fund?
Yes you can participate if your business is domiciled in Nigeria.

Capacity Building

This is an online/in-class extension of the YouWiN! Connect Enterprise Education and targeted at young entrepreneurs. It aims to build entrepreneurial capacity (online and in-class training) through exposure to relevant SME development materials and tools such as technical, legal and financial skills in business management.
Information Communication Technology 
This will introduce participants to common terminologies used in the start-up ecosystem, and the requirements to commercialize innovations, including protecting intellectual property, describing an innovation and the benefits it provides (vs. features), navigating the development process and market/product validation.
Agriculture/AgroProcessing
This will provide training support to agropreneurs across the value chains in the following areas - Rice, Maize, Cocoa, Oil Palm, Fruit Trees, Poultry, Dairy and Fisheries. It will be held in AgroHubs across the country.
Fashion
Our training programme will help new and existing fashion designers develop skills to grow their businesses. With the programme's partnership with reknown local and international fashion designers, participants will learn how to maximize the local and international demand for our fabrics, textiles and prints.
Manufacturing & Retail
Exposure to basic accounting and inventory management principles, which are key to retail operations will be provided. In addition, the training programme will offer practical skills in areas such as branding, marketing, finishing and quality control.
Construction
Participants will acquire specialised skillset training in areas such as masonry, brick laying, carpentry, and plumbing, all of which will create pathways for local Nigerians to gain employment.
