The Ministry of Defence invites applications from qualified and interested candidates for several civilian staff positions. 1. Garden Assistant III (CSG 15) – Thirty (30) Posts (Advert No. 1/2025)
Basic Salary: Ksh 19,340 – 24,470 per month
House Allowance: Depending on area of deployment
Commuter Allowance: Ksh 3,000 per month
Leave Allowance: Ksh 4,000 (once yearly)
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Duties and Responsibilities:
This is a training-grade position. Garden Assistants at this level will be responsible for maintaining lawns, flowerbeds, gardens, and other greenery within the Ministry’s units, State House, and lodges. They will also undertake a variety of tasks related to general gardening, including planting, watering, pruning, and basic landscaping work, ensuring that all assigned areas are well maintained and aesthetically appealing.
Requirements for Appointment:
Candidates must have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of D+ (Plus) or an equivalent qualification recognized by relevant authorities.
2. Support Staff / Sanitary Cleaners – CSG 16 – Fifteen (15) Posts (Advert No. 2/2025)
Basic Salary: Ksh 18,250 – 22,720 per month
House Allowance: Depending on area of deployment
Commuter Allowance: Ksh 3,000 per month
Leave Allowance: Ksh 4,000 (once yearly)
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Duties and Responsibilities:
This is an entry-level position. Support Staff/Sanitary Cleaners will undertake cleaning and sanitation duties in their assigned areas, perform messengerial tasks, and carry out other related duties as assigned. The role is critical in maintaining hygienic and orderly work environments within the Ministry’s facilities.
Requirements for Appointment:
Candidates must have a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) with a mean grade of D plain or an equivalent qualification recognized by the relevant authorities. In addition, candidates must hold a certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
