The Ministry of Home Affairs, through the Immigration Department, has opened applications for Immigration Constable positions for eligible Tanzanian youth. The announcement provides clear details on qualifications, age limits, priority skills, required documents, and the official application timeline.
APPLICANT QUALIFICATIONS
i. Must be a citizen of Tanzania;
ii. Must not have a job or have never been employed by any government institution;
iii. Must have a Birth Certificate;
iv. Must have a National Identity Card or an identification number issued by the National Identification Authority (NIDA);
v. Must be in good physical and mental health.
vi. Must never have used narcotic drugs;
vii. Must not have any record or information of involvement in security or criminal matters or events;
viii. Must not have any marks or drawings (Tattoos) on their body;
ix. Must not be married or have a child;
x. An applicant with Form Four education must have a qualification from Division One (1) to Division Three (3) and must be aged from 18 to 22 years, an applicant with a Diploma and Advanced Diploma must be aged from 18 to 25 years, and an applicant with a University Degree/Advanced Diploma must be aged from 18 to 30 years.
xi. Must be ready to attend initial military training for Immigration.
xii. Must be ready to work for the Immigration Department anywhere in Tanzania.
xiii. Must be ready to bear their own costs for all stages of follow-up and the administration of the employment exercise.
APPLICATIONS THAT WILL BE GIVEN PRIORITY:
Applications that will be given priority are those from applicants with professional qualifications at the level of a University Degree/Advanced Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and Diploma from institutions recognized by the Government, in the following fields: Expert in International Languages, Administration, Law, International Relations, ICT (Cyber Security, Database Developer, System Developer, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning), Journalism, Special Secretary, Accounting, Procurement and Supplies Management (registered with the Board), Statistics, Economics, Electrical, Air Conditioning Technician, Brass Band, Psychology Experts, and Typist (Printer).
Also, applicants with skills in Automotive Mechanics and Driving will be given priority.
How To Apply
All job applications must be submitted through the Immigration Department's website, starting from December 29, 2025, and the deadline for applications is January 11, 2026.
- When applying, the applicant is required to attach (upload) to the employment system the following documents in PDF format (each document not exceeding 300Kb);
- A recent passport-size photo in jpg/png format not exceeding 300Kb for attaching (uploading) to the system;
- A handwritten job application letter;
- An identification letter from the Street/Village or Ward Government; for those in JKT/JKU camps, they must have identification letters from the Camp Commander;
- Birth certificate;
- Must have a National Identity Card (NIDA) or NIDA number for registering in the system;
- Must have Index numbers for Form Four and Form Six certificates, which will be filled in the employment system;
- Must have the recognition number for the Diploma, Advanced Diploma, and University Degree/Advanced Diploma certificates recognized by TCU.
or NACTVET, which they will enter into the employment system;
- Professional registration certificates for fields that require Board registration;
- Applicant's Curriculum Vitae (CV).
