The University of Arkansas, Fayetteville calls for Postdoctoral Fellowship in Organometallic and COF Chemistry. The Beyzavi Group in the Department of Chemistry/Biochemistry in the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas is accepting applications for a highly motivated and hard-working postdoctoral Fellow in Transition-Metal Based Catalytic Systems with the focus on utilizing Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs).

Position Summary

Candidates on this Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Arkansas will do have the following dutiess

  • This position involves an organic synthesis of ligands, preparation and characterizing of transition-metal based complexes, testing their properties, catalytic activities and reporting results to Professor Beyzavi.
  • The position requires mentoring of junior researchers, manuscript preparation and submission of proposals for further work.
  • This initial appointment will be for one year, with expectation for renewal.
  • Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty of the position; as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in organometallic or organic chemistry conferred by the start of employment.
  • Training and hands-on experience in organic and organometallic synthesis, glovebox techniques, HPLC, GC, NMR, and mass spectroscopy.
  • First author publications in high impact journals in the fields of organometallic chemistry or COF chemistry (having publications in both fields preferred).
  • English proficiency in writing, speaking and listening.
  • Experience in COF chemistry preferred.
  • A solid track record of scientific achievement as documented by peer-reviewed scientific journal publication is desirable.
