Applications were opened for the Niger delta youths to apply for various skills acquisition training programme but this again was swept under the carpet under its leadership Mr Nsima Ekere.

Thousands of  Niger delta youths who believed the program was a means to raise them out of poverty and increase the work force of the region  were  disappointed as no reply has been given since applications were submitted last year October,2017.
The Niger delta Youths were to be trained on

  • Welding and fabrication
  • Furniture making & wood work
  • Catering & confectionary
  • Food processing
  •  Home management (tie & dye)
  • Modern printing technology
  • Fashion design & tailoring
  • Computer technology/programming
  • Entertainment industry
  • Solar power maintenance
  • Maritime technology

As stated from the Nddc website, applicants were  to apply and  download a slip with a reference code which when called upon for the never coming interview they will be able to represent it, but ever since,no one has been called upon.

last we heard was that the  Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, had finalized plans to set up training programmes that would ensure the creation of jobs for women and youths in the Niger Delta region.

The NDDC Managing Director, Mr Nsima Ekere, represented by NDDC Executive Director Projects, Engr. Samuel Adjogbe outlined the plans on Wednesday,27th September 2017 at the flag-off ceremony of the 6th Empowerment Support Initiative (ESI) in Owerri, Imo State.

He further stated that 5,000 youths and women from the Niger Delta will benefit from a massive skill acquisition programme billed to start from the first quarter of this year,2018 in the nine states of the Niger Delta region. But all these are mere lies and just to score cheap points in his political bid.

Its a shame how Nsima Ekere will continue to preach about youth development but  has failed in its part.
