INTERACTIVE SECTION BETWEEN SUBEB AND LEADERSHIP OF N-POWER BENEFICIARIES:
During the interactive Section several questions and issues were raised;
1. The refusal of the Headmasters to give information considering N-power beneficiaries in their school.
2. Uncooperative attitude of the Headmasters on the numbers of days to report to school within the week which is difficult on most beneficiaries going to their school.
3. The request for a complete list of all N-power beneficiaries within the LGA’S.
4. The need to strengthen the communication channel between the N-power beneficiaries and the N-power office.
5. Beneficiaries should be posted close to their place of resident to reduce the cost of transportation to the primary place of assignment.
6. The plead to be employed into the school system on completion of their primary assignment.
The PRO responded accordingly concerning the issues raised;
As regards the Headmasters attitude towards the plaque of beneficiaries, he said a meeting will be held with the Headmasters in order to have a better working relationships with the Reps, and he advised them to be committed to their work since most of them are not going to their place of primary assignment from report received through the Headmasters.
The request made for the list of N-power beneficiaries within their LGA’S, he said SUBEB is a unit under the State N-power office and the request will be discussed with the State Focal Person for approval. On the need to strengthen the communication channel between the office and N-power beneficiaries, he said they are to play the role of information officers to enlighten the beneficiaries as representative, concerning the activities of the N-power programme more especially the device collection and payment of allowances.
On the issue posting and reposting, he said there is no way everybody could be posted to schools in the main city because of the limited space in the schools and N-power office wanted every community to be benefit from the programme, and that reposting was not possible, also the office will soon visit the schools and at the same not to create vacuum to the schools already posted to presently. He also explain to them the need for the Data update which has assisted the office to capture their Educational Qualifications so that when State Government open windows of employing teachers in the school system he will make a proposal to the Board to consider employing some of the Qualified beneficiaries into the school system.
According to Lincoln Micheal, Secretary general. The update forms are now free due to different reactions of beneficiaries on social media. they no longer charge hundred naira for buying of ink and papers.
