Submission of credentials by N-Teach volunteers of the Federal Government
Empowerment Programme (NPOWER) has commenced in some states.
In a statement gathered from some state education ministries, it was confirmed
that the N-teach volunteers have been directed to submit their credentials at the
state post primary education board office. This credentials is to enable the
ministry have a full record of all performing N-teach volunteers. The need for this
arose due to the report by some school heads that some of the volunteers
deployed to schools are yet to resume while others are consistently absent after
reporting despite the fact that this volunteers are being paid their monthly
stipends. This is a big setback to the programme and it does not seek to achieve
its sole aim therefore all volunteers are encouraged to be always present,
consistent and effective in their place of primary assignment. In a bid to resolve
this issue, N-teach volunteers have been directed to submit their credentials to
their state post primary education board for proper documentation.
Volunteers are also to be informed that this does not have anything to do with
permanence as retaining them into the civil service is strictly the decision of the
Federal Government and as such they should desist from spreading such news.
The required credentials to be submitted are as follows;
1. Degree Certificate(s)
2. NYSC Certificate or Exemption Letter
3. Deployment Letter
4. Assumption of Duty letter
5. Recommendation Letter
6. Monthly return if any
