The Cross River State universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) is calling for applications from candidates who are interested in the 2017 Federal Teachers Scheme.
The criteria for eligibility to participate in the scheme include:
i. Possession of the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from institutions accredited by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) and awarded not earlier than 2013.
ii. Candidates must not be above 40 years of age;
iii. Candidates should specialize in any of the following Basic Education subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Science, Vocational Education, Nigerian and Foreign Languages, Special Education and Early Childhood Care and Development Education.
iv. Candidates who are currently working and receiving salary or allowance from any organization (Public and Private) are not eligible to participate in the Scheme without first formally disengaging from the organization.
2. Those to be engaged into the service will be deployed to the following categories of basic education schools:
i. Schools located in remote rural and, sometimes, difficult –to-reach places.
ii. Schools identified through UBEC quality assurance to be without teachers.
iii. Nomadic Schools.
iv. Schools in Internally Displaced Persons Camps
3. Candidates should note that none of those enlisted for the scheme would be allowed to serve in schools that are already fairly provided with teachers, especially those in the urban and sub-urban centres.
4. Candidates with fake/forged statement/certificates need not apply as these documents will be subjected to rigorous screening and verification.
5. Application is free and on no account should monies be paid to anybody for the purpose of this exercise. Please be guided.
Interested candidates should submit hand written applications with relevant credentials addressed to the Executive Chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, Calabar to reach him not later than 19th November, 2017.
