The five successful participants will be invited to Abuja to the Competition Award Ceremony in November 2017. The cost for travel and accomodation will be borne by the Organizing Entities. In addition, the drawings of the finalists and semi-finalists will be published online and may be considered for an Exhibition.
The Competition is part of the UN Women Campaign “Empowering Women – Empowering Humanity” and the EU Gender Action.

Guidelines


  • You may enter up to two drawings. Your drawing(s) must be entered at the same time. You can only enter your drawings once.
  • You must enter your drawing(s) on or before midnight of September 18, 2017. Late entries will not be accepted.  Due to the expected high volume of last-minute entries, we advise you to enter your drawing(s) well in advance of the entry deadline.
  • While submitting your entry, you must submit a completed entry form providing your name, date of birth, address, nationality, email, and country of residence. (Form can be assessed on the home page of this website).
  • A Panel of Judges of at least five members will select five finalists as well as 10 – 15 semi-finalists. All prize winners will be notified by email after the selection.
  • Successful participants will be notified by the Delegation of the EU to Nigeria and/or UN Women by e-mail. Winners are required to respond to the notification email accepting the prize.  The Delegation of the EU to Nigeria and the UN Women reserve the right to reallocate the prize to another participant if a response is not received within seven days of the notification.
  • Names of the prize winners will be publicly announced at an Awards Ceremony in Abuja on November 02, 2017. The costs for travel within Nigeria and accommodation will be borne by the Organizing Entities.  The prizes and invitation to the awards ceremony are non-transferable.  The winning drawings may be considered for an exhibition.
  • The decision of the jury members is final and biding.
  • The Organizing Entities reserve the right to cancel, modify, suspend or delay the competition in the event of unforeseen circumstances beyond their reasonable control. The Organizing Entities also reserve the right to change, amend, delete or add to these Terms and conditions at any time.
  • The Organizing Entities and their officials and agents shall not be responsible or liable for any claims, demands, losses and liability of any kind or nature arising out of or in connection with our participation in this competition or your acceptance or use of the prizes awarded.
  • You must be between 18 and 28 years old as of August 31, 2017. You must provide your date of birth in the entry form.
  • You must be a Nigerian residing in Nigeria.
  • You must use your legal name and provide valid contact details along with your drawing(s).
  • The drawing(s) must be without words.
  • Your Drawings must fit on one DIN A4 page (210mm x 297mm). Both portrait and landscape orientation are accepted.  If a drawing comprises several pictures, the number of pictures should not exceed six boxes and the complete drawing must fit on one DIN A4 page.
  • The resolution of the drawing(s) must be at least 150 dpi or higher. Data size is limited to 5MB per drawing.   Acceptable formats include jpg, jpeg, png and pdf formats only.
Your drawing(s) must not be in the determination of the Organizing Entities:
  • Be disrespectful of the impartiality and independence of the United Nations and the EU Delegation to Nigeria;
  • Reflect adversely on the Organizing Entities;
  • Be incompatible with the aims and objectives of the Organizing Entities;
  • Be derogatory to any persons depicted in the drawings;
  • Contain any nudity, lewd, or otherwise offensive or inappropriate content
The Organizing Entities shall not be responsible or liable for:
• Any problem, loss or damage due to delay and/or failure in receiving and sending the entry as a result of any network, communication or system interruption or error.
Or
• Any error, interruption, deletion defect, delay in operation or transmission, site failure or unauthorized access to entries.
• Submitted drawing(s) must be original, unpublished work. Entrants represent and warrant that their submission is their original work and it has not been copied from others, and it does not violate the rights of any other person or entity.
• Incomplete entries or entries that do not comply with these terms and conditions will be automatically disqualified at the sole discretion of the Organizing Entities.
