N-Power NG Team in Kogi State (photos)

‘’The Hills are alive with the sound of music’’ lyrics from the Sound of Music movie kept running through our minds as we drove into Kogi State. We were welcomed by the State team led by Ibrahim Adoga and Femi Bolaji.
That evening we visited the Social Investment Office, a building dedicated to the Social Investment Programmes of the Federal Government. Well done, Kogi

The next day we travelled to Okene and Kabba. We visited the schools, primary health centers and farms.
At the schools, we saw the next generation, curiosity etched on their faces and a hope that our visit will bring more.

We spoke to Joan in Okene. Joan earned 8,000 Naira at her previous job as a teacher in the private school in Okene. She said she was grateful to N-Power and was excited at the opportunity she has to teach kids. She says when she arrived at the school, the kids couldn’t speak a word in English but now they are able to communicate in English.

We visited the Health Center in Kabba and met the wonderful young men and women assisting in the Primary Health Center.

Next day, we paid a courtesy visit to he Governor of Kogi State, H.E Yahaya Bello at the State House. We then held an interactive session with N-Power volunteers across Kogi State. We provided answers to questions that bothered the volunteers in the state.

Kogi State is the 18th state we have been to in the nation, in our first phase of monitoring and evaluating.
