UPDATE OF THE FIRST N-POWER VOLUNTEERS CONGRESS IN AKWA IBOM

Npower Volunteers
1) The Congress took place on Saturday, 10th June, 2017 at the Federal Secretariat Complex, Olusegun Obasanjo Way, Uyo. It commenced at about 11:45a.m
2) The State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr. Aniefiok Friday Esetang was present the address Volunteers on vital issues of interest.
3) Unpaid volunteers in the State were admonished to exercise patience until the end of June. So many will be paid along with others.
4) Any volunteer who is not paid at month end should endeavor to register for the next batch of volunteers intake. While registering, they should avoid the mistake(s) earlier made.
5) Backlog payment for those that have so far received one or two months stipends will be effected soon.



6) The Director advised volunteers to be proactive and committed to their jobs at the various PPAs. This will help in contributing positively to the society and justify the Government confidence on them.
7) While N-Health and N-Agro have been posted, that of N-Teach will be effected soon.
8)The NOA, in collaboration with other concerned Ministries and Agency has established a monitoring team as directed by the Presidency to monitor volunteers at their PPAs.
9) Through the monitoring, periodic reports on volunteers will be compiled and submitted for future use.
10) Devices/gadget will be distributed to volunteers the moment the state take delivery of them.
11) All Volunteers at the congress unanimously agreed to be issued Identity cards for the purpose of identification and to avoid impersonation. The Id cards will also contain volunteers serial numbers has sent from the Presidency
12) The NOA is not very certain on the payment of December, 2016 arrears to AKS volunteers. Hence, the necessary offices will be communicated.
13) As the Npower portal reopens for fresh registration this week,we are asked to encourage our unemployed relatives and friends with NCE, HND, B.Sc.(and other degree qualifications) to apply for the empowerment program.
14) Volunteers were also admonished to apply for other jobs since Npower is not permanent.
15) It was agreed that the congress will take place often.

  1. Please does this affect Delta State; those who haven't been paid at all since inception of the program? I really don't understand why all these are happening.
