The Federal Government has estimated the total amount spent on 200,000 beneficiaries of the N-Power scheme to be N6 billion, adding that she sets to spend an additional N18 billion on 300,000 beneficiaries that will be registered in May.

The Senior Special Adviser to the Presidency on Job Creation, Afolabi Imoukhuede said this in an interactive workshop with N-Power monitoring team and representative beneficiaries across Ogun state. Imoukhuede, who expressed satisfaction over the beneficiaries’ performance commended the state government, commissioners as well as monitoring team for their relentless effort in providing job opportunities for residents. Similarly, he noted that a total of 5,799 beneficiaries were selected from Ogun State out of 13,866 graduates that applied for the scheme. A total number of 18,275 registered for it. Enumerating the challenges encountered during the process of selection, he said 5,152 people have been verified as qualified beneficiaries of Ogun N-Power after a shift from the slated expiration date of December 31, 2016 to March 12, 2017. However, the SSA said a total number of 4,316 should have no issues on payment as they have been verified by the NISS, saying, 836 people have neither been verified nor have proper account details. He assured that the federal government would work in resolving issues relating to the scheme and encouraged beneficiaries to perform proper registration of details ,stressing that they should be careful of fraudulent acts by friends, families or Internet users. Meanwhile, Imoukhuede noted that a team would soon introduce a monitoring report which would judge the amount of money apportioned to the people in relation to the work they perform. He urged the beneficiaries to be disciplined and pay attention to details.
